A few weeks ago, Microsoft launched an inspiring ad during the Super Bowl that promised AI would help us fulfill our dreams, not take our jobs. This was a powerful message delivered through a beautifully crafted video, which went viral and quickly became Microsoft’s most-watched video with over 16 million views.

As a technical founder of GPT Vetting — a tool to help recruiters screen candidates faster using AI — I wondered: Could I recreate this million-dollar commercial using only free AI tools?

I have a background in software, but making a video was completely new to me. It felt like reverse-engineering a masterpiece, but I was driven by excitement. We’re living in a time when anyone can create videos, apps, or even music without prior experience, thanks to AI. That thought kept me going. So, here’s how I did it step by step.

First, I took a screenshot of each scene from Microsoft’s ad. Then, I uploaded each image to Chat GPT, asking for a detailed description of each one. Here’s a prompt for those curious:

Next, I used the descriptions with BlinkShot, a text-to-image tool, to generate similar scenes. For each description, BlinkShot crafted visuals that closely matched the original frames.

With the base images ready, I turned to Hailuo AI. I inputted each scene description, asking the AI to animate it as if an actor were playing it out.

For product shots where I needed to display my product in action, I used Screen Studio to record my screen and add effects like zooming.

Lastly, I edited everything together using CapCut on my phone and laptop. No high-end editing software.

Here’s the best part: it cost me nothing but time and a willingness to try. But while this project was exciting, one question kept bothering me—is it legal? And where is this technology leading us?

AI isn’t just for coders or creatives; it’s for anyone who wants to build, tell stories, or inspire. With a few tools, we can produce content at a professional level.

And now, anyone can be a storyteller — no budget required.
